इस किताब में लेखक ने अपने एक नोजवान दोस्त Rick जिसे वह केवल एक दिन किसी पार्टी में मिला था, उसकी हृदय-विदारक, संघर्षशील, जिंदगी के विभिन्न पहलुओं का मार्मिक चित्रण किया है। लेखक सागर साहब को जब इतेफाक से यह पता लगा कि दिल्ली Rick का सड़क दुर्घटना में accident हो गया है, तब लेखक जो मुम्बई में रहते थे, वहाँ से हवाई प्लेन से दिल्ली आए केवल एक ऐसे शक्श के लिए जिसे वे केवल एक दिन युहीं  किसी पार्टी में गिटार बजाते हुए Rick से  मिले थे। इस बात से हम लेखक के व्यक्तित्व का अनुमान लगा सकते है। वही दिल्ली अस्पताल में लेखक ने Rick के किसी करीबी को फोन करने के लिए उसके बैग को देखा, तो उसे वहां एक डायरी दिखी। हालांकि लेखक ने फ़ोन में से उसके किसी दोस्त को call की,जो Rick की इस खबर को सुनकर घबरा गया और उसी वक्त शिमला से दिल्ली के लिए रवाना हो गया था।Rick भी शिमला से था,पर वह आज से कुछ साल पहले दिल्ली का ही रहने वाला था, ऐसा क्या हुआ जो वह दिल्ली से शिमला रहने लगा इसके पीछे बहुत ही मार्मिक कहानी है। Rick का कोई अपना नही था,उस वक्त वह केवल अनाथ था,और उसके साथ एक बच्चा था,जो खतरे से बाहर था ,पर Rick ICU में था। उस डायरी में ,जो लेखक को Rick के बैग में मिली थी ,Rick के बारे में काफी कुछ बताती है, वह बच्चा जो अभी अस्पताल में था, वह उसका सगा भाई, या बेटा नही था,बल्कि वह तो उसे दिल्ली की सड़कों में कहीं मिला था, और Rick उसे अपने साथ ले आया, उस वक्त Rick अपनी दादी के साथ दिल्ली रहता था,पर वक्त के साथ दादी भी इस दुनिया से अलविदा कह चुकी और Rick बिलुकल एकेला हो गया, और उस वक्त उसे काफी मुसीबतो का सामना करना पड़ा , डायरी से पता  चलता है कि, Rick जब college में पढ़ता था तो वहाँ उसे एक लडकी पसन्द आई, चाहकर भी वह उससे नही बोल सका, क्योंकि Rick खुद को उसके काबिल नही समझता था।पर काफी सालो बाद किस से तरह से इत्तेफाक से वो Avni शिमला मिलता है और Avni Rick से बिल्कुल अनजान है ,क्योंकि college में कभी उसने Rick से बात नही की थी,पर यहाँ उनकी प्रेम कथा शुरू होती है, कैसे होती है ये बहुत ही रोचक कहानी है,इससे सीखने को मिलता है कि अगर आप किसी से सच्चा प्रेम करते है और आप मे धैर्य है तो आप जरूर एक दिन अपने प्रेम को पाते है,ये बात पुस्तक में कैसे सच्ची साबित की गई है आप इसको पढ़ सकते है। इस पुस्तक के अंत तो हृदय को छू लेने वाला है।

इस किताब को पढ़कर मैं कई दिनों तक Rick बारे में सोचकर  बेचैन-सा रहा, और एक तरफ खुशि भी थी कि Rick जिसके पास एक वक्त कुछ नही था अब उसके पास सब कुछ था केवल उसके अच्छे व्यवहार और लोगो के प्रति सच्चे प्रेम के कारण।

आखिर Rick दिल्ली से शिमला क्यों रहने लगा?

Avni जो उसे college के वक्त मिली वो शिमला कैसे पहुंची? इसकी बहुत हृदय को छूने वाली घटना है।

अंश जो बच्चा Rick के साथ था वह कैसे उसे मिला और Rick ने उसे अपने साथ क्यों रख लिया?

और Rick की सच्ची कहानी , जो आपको दो-तीन बार तो  बेचैन-से कद देगी, इस पुस्तक को एक बार पढें जरूर आप काफी कुछ सीखेंगे,ये मेरा यकीन है।

आपको जरूर यह पुस्कत एक बार पढ़नी चाहिए। जो बातें मेने ऊपर लिखी हैं उसकी पूरी सच्ची कहानी इस किताब में है,मुझे पक्का यकीन है कि आप इस किताब को पढ़कर निराश नही होंगे, बल्कि एक अलग ही सोचनीय सक्ति के साथ आप कई दिनों तक Rick के बारे में सोचते रहोगे, और उससे काफी कुछ सीखने को मिलेगा। एक बार जरूर इस किताब को आप पढें। इसके अनुभव अमूल्य है।

मैं बार क्यों कह रहा इस इस किताब को पढ़ों ये आप इससे पढ़कर अदांजा कग लेंगे।

मेरे लिए यह बहुत बड़ी बात थी जब मैने ये पुस्तक मेरे दोस्त से ली थी, और उस दोस्त ने मेरी बात सागर साहब से करवाई थी। ये मेरे लिए बहुत बड़ी बात थी मेने उनसे बात की ओर मुझे काफी अच्छा लगा।

मुझे ये पुस्तक कैसे मिली, इसकी भी एक अलग कहानी है, मैं एक दिन मेरे करीबी दोस्त के यहां बैठा था, तो हम काफी वक्त तक एक दुसरे से बाते करते रहे,उसी वक्त मेरी नज़र अलमारी में रखी इस चीज पर पडी, और मैने इसके बारे में पूछा तो उसे कहा ये Sagar Allone की पुस्तक है, तो उसने मुझे पढने के लिए दे दी, मैं इसे ले आया जब मैने इसे पढ़ा तो इसकी शुरुआती कुछ पन्नो से ही मेरा मन उत्सुकता से भर गया और मुझे इसे पढ़ने की ललक-सी हो गई।
